Endoscopic Tissue Morcellation

About Tissue Morcellation

Lumenis high power Holmium lasers paved the way for multiple applications in urology, including the minimally invasive treatment of Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia (BPH). During the Holmium Laser Enucleation of the Prostate (HoLEP) procedure, the prostate lobes are endoscopically separated from the prostate capsule using the Lumenis Pulse laser and pushed into the bladder. Once in the bladder the enucleated prostrate tissue needs to be morcellated and removed to complete the procedure endoscopically.

How Tissue Morcellation works?

In collaboration with leading physicians, Lumenis developed the VersaCut Tissue Morcellator – an integrated endoscopic morcellation system that morcellates the prostate tissue inside the bladder and removes the tissue. The removal of the enucleated prostate tissue is being address endoscopically which supplements the HoLEP procedure in a complete minimally invasive approach for the benefit of the patient.

The Lumenis VersaCut Tissue Morcellator Solution

The Lumenis VersaCut Tissue Morcellator is a complementary solution for the HoLEP procedure. It enables simultaneous endoscopic tissue morcellation and removal of dissected tissue, with controllable morcellation speed and suction power, in one easy to use, integrated solution. Together with the Lumenis Pulse and VersaPulse families of lasers, Lumenis is offering a comprehensive solution to perform HoLEP procedures and treat BPH patients.
